About the Project

What is Grow Creative?

Grow Creative is a creative industries development project run by the Innovation and Enterprise Unit at Lancaster University. It combines the Creative Enterprise Action and Development initiative (CEAD) and Creative Awareness Network (CAN).

The aim of the Grow Creative project is to transfer knowledge, expertise and resource from the University out to the creative sector to enable creative businesses to grow. The project will work in partnership with industry support agencies and networks in the North West region to enhance existing provision to the sector.

Who is it for?

We are offering support to creative Lancashire and Cumbria-based SMEs (Small-Medium Enterprises, defined as organisations with between 1 and 250 employees, with turnover of less than €2m).  Beneficiaries will range from start-ups and young companies  to established organisations working in the following sectors:

- Advertising
- Craft
- Design
- Designer Fashion
- Film & Video
- Interactive Leisure Software
- Marketing
- Music
- Performing Arts
- Publishing
- Television and Radio
- Visual Arts

How will support be delivered?

Grow Creative focusses on both personal and professional development through a range of free support activities which include consultancies, creative business development workshops, one to one mentoring with trained experts, the young creatives network and peer development groups.
