Frequently Asked Questions

Who is LEAD for?

Delegates on LEAD come from a variety of sub-sectors from the Creative Industries. A number of social enterprises have also completed the programme. Delegates should have the ability and influence to implement strategic changes within the organisation. As such LEAD is open to owner-managers or directors of small to medium sized businesses.

Do I need any qualifications?

There aren’t any formal qualifications that you must have obtained in order to apply for LEAD. However, we do ask that you are prepared to make a commitment to improving your business.

Will I be Eligible?

The LEAD programme is for owner/managers, directors or anyone within the business that is able to implement change, we also ask that you are committed to the course. Finally, there should only be up to 20 full time equivalent employees in the business. However, there may be some leeway in this so please contact us with any questions.

What is the time commitment?

LEAD is a 10 month intensive development programme and requires significant commitment from the participants. It is essential that delegates commit to all elements of the programme in order to achieve maximum benefit.

On average delegates commit to 2 to 3 days per month.

Will there be any homework or assignments?

We fully appreciate how busy you are running your own business on a day to day basis. With this in mind, there are no formal assignments to complete. All we ask is that you make the time to reflect on what you have learnt and think about how your learning can be applied to your own company.

Is the programme accredited?

It is important to us that we meet the needs of the delegates on the programme, and as such we try to tailor the course to suit the evolving needs of the small business owner year upon year. For example, we may run an additional masterclass if the need arises. If we were to accredit the course we would not have this flexibility.

What is the Cost?

The cost of LEAD is £10,000 per delegate. However the NWDA are currently funding 80% of the cost, making the total cost to you £2000. Through the Train to Gain Service, it may also be possible to further reduce this cost to £1000.

Please contact us for more details.
